1. Meal Package Details (inc. pricing)
1.1 Plan dates are 12 January to 27 March 2026 pre-paid
1.2 Meal Plan cards can be collected from 9 January 2026 from the James McCune Smith Learning Hub, at the World Cuisine counter. Full payment must be made at the point of booking.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The Meal Plan Monetary-Value Card is available exclusively to:
- Current registered students at the University of Glasgow, or
- Individuals holding an unconditional offer to study at the University of Glasgow who will begin their studies in the upcoming academic period.
2.2. Your student card may be required at the point of purchase or collection.
3. Card Description
3.1. The Card provides a monetary balance that can be spent at participating University of Glasgow catering outlets.
3.2. This is not a food entitlement and does not guarantee any set number of meals. The monetary balance may be spent at the cardholder’s discretion.
3.3. Dinner meals included in the plan are only available at JMS; other outlets do not offer the standard dinner allocation as this is out of their operating hours.
4. Meal Plan Options
4.1. Two purchase options are available:
Option 1: £795 total value (£14/day equivalent)
Option 2: £495 total value (£8.50/day equivalent)
4.2. The Card is valid for 11 weeks, from 12 January to the 27 March 2026. No extensions or rollovers are permitted.
5. Usage
5.1. The Card can be used only by the named student who purchased it.
5.2. The Card cannot be transferred, shared, or sold to another individual.
5.3. Lost or stolen cards must be reported immediately. Replacement may be issued at the University’s discretion.
5.4. Funds remaining on The Card do not rollover to the next day,
5.5. If you purchase item(s) over the daily limit, payment upfront will be required,.
6. Refunds & Cancellations
6.1 Prepaid packages are only available to purchase via the UofG Shop website
Full payment is due at the time of purchase. Please note there is a small admin charge at point of purchase.
Cancellation of a Meal Plan can be requested within 14 days of purchase and full refund given. Any refunds requested thereafter may be declined and pro-rata refunds may be offered under exceptional circumstances.
6.2. No refunds will be issued for unused credit after the validity period ends.
7. Conduct
7.1. The University reserves the right to suspend or cancel the Card if misuse, fraud, or breach of these Terms & Conditions is suspected.
7.2. Students must comply with all University of Glasgow catering policies while using the Card.
8. Changes to the Scheme
8.1. The University may update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
8.2. Any significant changes will be communicated through the UofG Shop website or via student email.

10. Miscellaneous
i. The University of Glasgow and any subsidiary companies reserve the right to amend or withdraw this offer at any time without prior notice
ii. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions
iii. Any queries, concerns or complaints relating to this offer should be directed to campuscatering@glasgow.ac.uk A response will be received within 5 working days.
iv. All menus are subject to change and depending on product/ingredient availability; our sample menus should be used a guide only.
v. During any unexpected closure of the University (e.g. due to adverse weather conditions), we cannot offer refunds or guarantee meals will be available.

The information collected
Log files
The University's website does not automatically capture or store personal data from visitors to the site, other than to log your IP address and session information.
